ROOT CANAL

Like most dental procedures, the best root canal is the one that was prevented and some controversy may still exists about the holistic effects of root canal therapy. Teeth are complex bone-like structures with interrelated components for maintaining internal and external durability.

Blood supply to an enclosed "pulp", within the tooth, enters by way of narrow tooth canals "apiciesx" (at the root tips); additionally, smaller blood vessels nourish the tooth, from without, by way of a connective tissue capsule: the "periodontal ligament."(please see Tooth Anatomy diagrams, page #25)

If bacteria penetrate deep enough, the pulp's vessels become infected, dental nerves are compromised and pain will be the most common result…
